Yoga is the science of union and its meaning is far deeper than the western idea of ‘exercise’. Asana, or the posture and movement aspect of Yoga, is a very important yet small part of the true ocean of Yogic philosophy and techniques.
Diving deeply into asana practice is highly beneficial. It enables a reconnection, or deeper connection, with your body, creating union between mind, body and spirit. It is good for just about every type of human ailment, whether high blood pressure, back pain, joint pain, mental fatigue, anxiety and depression disorders, and every form of dis-ease in between.
Through the mindful movement Yoga asana creates, the body realigns with its true state, one of equilibrium and harmony, allowing the mind to also balance and therefore creating the space to touch our real nature. Ultimately leading to the achievement of union between the body, mind and spirit with our true Self.

~ TEACHING ~
As a Yoga practitioner, I am RYT 500 qualified to teacher multiple styles of Yoga including Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin. I find these three branches of Yoga cover a wide net of needs, from the strong, stable tried and tested practices of Hatha to the dynamic flow of Vinyasa or the secure, grounding poses of Yin; all have immense benefits.
Having practiced Yoga asana for a number of years, I found myself desiring to go further on my journey along the 8 limbs of Yoga, which is why I spent time in the Himalayas of India diving deeply into meditation and Yogic philosophy. The Yogic path is well-trodden; the ancients spoke with complete clarity about the journey to attaining Samadhi or enlightenment manifesting as inner peace and joy. Certainly, in my experience I have found this to be true.
Beginning your own journey may seem daunting, however Yoga asana is a wonderful place to start and one which delivers many positive ‘side-effects’ for daily health and mind-body relaxation. Join me on the path ॐ𑁍
